Hello Clouds!

Did you know that there are clouds in the summer in Colorado? This is a phenomenal revelation for me! I do love blue skies and sunshine {maybe even more than most}, but during the summer in Davis, California (where I used to live) there will be endless weeks of hot days without a cloud in sight to give you respite from the sun. I often found myself there in July or August just waiting for a cloud to roll by, or {gasp} a rainstorm.

Here in Boulder there is a good supply of both. I love it when I’m sitting at my art desk in the afternoon and the light outside starts to dim, and then a low rumbling of thunder rolls over, and the wind kicks up through the trees, and before I know it the rain is pouring down. Never have I found so much delight and novelty in small weather variations! As always, it is the small things! I hope you’re having a lovely breezy day wherever you are!

I totally get the cloud thing. In Sydney the endless blue sky depressed me which I know sounds odd, but I’m such a cloud person. I know you understand!

Enjoyed getting lost in the altocumulous maze of your sensational photo. Seattle, of course, has its share of clouds; and now up here we’re in the best — at least for me — three months of the year.

Glad you’re settling in well down there in Cloudorado.
