The Boulder Wilds

We’ve been out and about in the wilds of Boulder over the past few weeks since we moved here, and we’ve been delighted to find that there are many hikes and wild spaces within 15 minutes drive from our front door! Here are some of the sights we’ve been seeing:

The view of Boulder from the top of Green Mountain

Mike enjoying the view of the high mountains from the top of Green Mountain

Heading out in Chautauqua Park, with a view of the Flatirons (the rocky formations just there in the background)

View from the top of the Royal Arch trail

And here I am living it up on the top of Mt. Sanitas

It is quite a privilege to be able to go up on a hike in the morning and be back for lunch—in fact we did just that! Mike will be starting his new job later this week, so we’ve been trying to squeeze in as many outdoor adventures as possible before then. But it is wonderful to realize that there will be many more adventures even when we’re working because the outdoors is literally in our backyard {seriously, our house is on the edge of this beautiful open space—pictures of that to come}. We are lucky lucky! I hope you’re having a wonder-filled adventurous day too!

What beauty! Can’t wait to see it for ourselves. Just crossed Carson Pass in the Sierra Nevadas, headed your way, ever so slowly, maybe 50 miles/day.

I can’t believe the mountains in the distance still have snow on them! So glad you are living in such a gorgeous place x
