Twistable, Turnable Man and Other Hilarities by Shel Silverstein: poetry podcast #15

Guess who’s here for a visit in this week’s poetry podcast? Well, the Twistable, Turnable Man of course!

Listen up for some Shel Silverstein fun:

All of the poems I read today are from A Light in the Attic by Shel Silverstein, most likely available in a library near you. Here are their titles in order of reading:

“Twistable, Turnable Man”
“Outside or Underneath?”
“Put Something In”

Hello Ms. Nicole! I really love that you are able to listen to you reading the poem while looking at the picture that you posted as well. Your blog is different than others that way by listening to the poem being read because I feel that you can ponder the poem as the words are rolled off the tongue. This poem always made me laugh when I was younger, and I love reminiscing on the younger poets that I read. It’s interesting that some of Shel Silverstein’s poetry is applicable not only to children, but also to adults in smaller sized lessons, and is a good reminder to laugh a lot and have fun every once in awhile. I am curious, what are your top three poets that have influenced you? Two of my favorite are William Carlos William and e.e. Cummings.

    Thanks!

How did you go about obtaining copyright permission for the use of this poem?

It’s actually very complex in this active life to listen news on TV,
thus I just use world wide web for that reason,
and take the most up-to-date news.
