Reminder: Make Time for What You Love

This morning, while I was managing in my head various life situations, prepping for craft shows, thinking about my new part-time day job, and the etcetera of life, I was reminded of how easy it is to lose track of what I’m really trying to do, which is: make things. Isn’t it funny how it’s so easy to put the thing you love (your real intention) at the bottom of the list? You run from one thing to the next and leave the best for last, or never.

Today, I just wanted to remind myself and all of us to:

Sadly, no one else ever will—in fact, everyone and everything will always crowd in, trying to hoard your time away from what you really want to be doing. The business things, the bills, the family members, the day-job will always feel more pressing and urgent, and sometimes, those things will need to be taken care of first. But it’s always worth taking a moment to really think about what winds your clock, and make a really hard and fast choice to DO IT. It doesn’t matter if it’s just for a few minutes a day—just MAKE TIME and stick to it.

For me, that thing I love to do is making things, and specifically drawing, This morning. I found a little moment of paradise listening to music and working on my creative kits. I command you to let yourself have that little piece of paradise and do what you love!

That is all. I’m off to draw!

you have to make time to do the things you love and are passionate about as well as everything else
it will keep you sane =]

This is such good, true advice. And so simple! I have found that no one else is going to push me towards my passion — it’s up to me to do it. And there WILL always be other things that need my energy, but I have to focus on my priorities.

Thanks for the reminder! Oh, and I got my creative kit in the mail. I’m so excited to play!!!
