Good Things

1. Watching and listening to the wind and rain as it gusts outside my studio window
2. A quiet house
3. A birthday picnic on the living room floor (in celebration of my birthday this weekend)
4. A bag full of poetry books from the library book sale
5. A visit to the art store—the land of infinite possibilities
6. An abundance of oranges from the farmer’s market—so sweet—like liquid sunshine
7. Flannel sheets
8. Hugs
9. New ideas that never quit

Aren’t library book sales the best? I look forward to ours every year.

The wind roared through the Willamette Valley with raging speed yesterday. Most of us were content to sit in our homes by the window, beneath lamps, sipping hot tea and reading books. It’s nice to enjoy the comforts of a massive storm.
