Wild Geese: a poetry podcast

I’m trying something pretty new today—a poetry podcast! I won’t write too much because I want the podcast to speak for itself, but this is a podcast of me reading and talking about one of my favorite poems, “Wild Geese” by Mary Oliver. Also, as I mention in the podcast, here’s the post with the written words of this poem from Kerri at Songs of Light.

OK, so here it goes—a little something to look at first, and then the podcast. Please let me know if you have any troubles listening!

Oh Nicole, I loved hearing your voice! I sat in the dark with my eyes closed and listened and loved it. So funny how my favourite lines of the poem are the same as yours, then again perhaps I shouldn’t be surprised at all. I found Mary Oliver within the last year too and it made me think how funny it is that I’m in New Zealand and you’re on the other side of the world and we are having the same feelings about these wonderful words. Such a great idea to read and talk about poems, please do it again! Thanks for mentioning my blog too, that was sweet of you.

This is a lovely poem, and I’m delighted that you chose to read it AND talk about it. How often does this happen in blogland? Not often enough, in my opinion. I do hope you do it again. Wonderful idea.
