You may remember that I did a craft show called Indie Sacramento back in December. Well, the Indie Sacramento girls are at it again, and they’ve started organizing a craft show on the first Saturday of each month!
I wasn’t able to participate in the January show, but this weekend I will go to my first monthly show, and it’s bound to be fun as it has a Valentine’s Day theme! This doesn’t mean we will be selling only Valentine’s related things, but I am bringing out all of my potential love inspiring items.
Here’s a view of my desk this morning as I try to figure out what to bring:
It’s pretty fun to look at a bunch of my work all on one table—art isn’t really something that is valued by volume, but it’s nice to see I’ve made several pieces and to see how my work has changed, just over the past year. I find it fun to look at my flickr page too because it brings the work together in a way that’s not possible on a blog, and can be even better than an actual website because I don’t have to be judicious about displaying just a certain number of works.
I also decided to type up and photocopy a couple of my favorite love poems to hand out as free poetry at the show. I chose: since feeling is first by the great e.e. (of course), and Song for a Lady by Anne Sexton, a long time favorite of mine.
If you’re in the area, please do come by and say hi—I’d love to meet you in person, and I will have poems, and hearts, and geometric blooms, oh my!
