I really love scientific drawings of the human body. I find internal organs interesting because of their shapes and all they have come to symbolize. I think a lot of artists do–Frida Kahlo is one of my favorites that has painted the human heart in her self portraits. Scientific drawings are especially fun to do in my fine line style because there are so many different parts to fill in. I really enjoyed doing the human heart in my last post, so here is another drawing on this theme. I start out by finding a drawing I like in this copy of Gray’s Anatomy I picked up. I draw my version of it and then start patterning it with my trusty Uniball Deluxe. It is about 5×5 inches or 11×11 centimeters.

Yes I agree. When I first started drawing I was obsessed with bones and copying things out of anatomy books. Very interesting and fun to do.
There is something so inherently interesting about how our bodies work and the fact that they work. There is endless subject matter there.
